Saturday night was BSU's homecoming game so there were a ton of events included in that, we decided to take the kids to the parade which was a lot of fun!! After the parade we went to a tailgating party for Ryan's Construction Management/ Engineering club. Families are not supposed to attened college events I am sad to say.

This weekend we decided to venture out in the woods for the one camping trip a year I go on. I thought I was going to get out of it but that didn't happen. We headed up to Grimes Creek on Friday evening made dinner, played in the water and went to bed in a cold tent on a hard floor. No I am just kidding it was great actually the kids had a blast and slept well. On Saturday a couple of our friends came up and everyone played and had a great time and then to finish off a great trip we had a yummy dutch oven dinner with a dessert I just couldn't pass up. I must say out of the three times I have been camping this one was the best, I WASN'T pregnant!!!

FHE and the garden

Tonight for FHE we decided to plant our garden. I know a little late but thats how life has been. Ryan said it should have been called "Ryans home evening" tonight because Hunter didnt want to get dirty and I had Mayan so... hey at least we all went to the store to pick them out we had treats and we sang a song I think it counts!!

Well like I have posted numerous times I am not the best at crafts but hey at least I try. Ryan just spent no joke eight hours cleaning our carpets so we aren't wearing shoes in the house or eating anywhere there is carpet. So I saw this cute little sign that goes on your front door that lets people know to take there shoes off. So... I tried it. I think it turned out ok

Then our friends have large letters of their kids initials and I loved them so I decided to try that as well. Her piggy bank will be added in just a few short months!

Our ward Christmas party was last night and it turned out really well. Santa was there and we werent sure if Hunter would sit on his lap but he did and it was really cute. He was asked what he wanted for Christmas and he said "presents"

Well, This is the first year Ryan and I have ever carved pumpkins since we have been married. I thought since we had a kid it was time to start. Hunter loved putting the guts in the garbage but only with a spoon he hates things on his hands (thanks grandpa) Hunter loves opening the front door to check on his pumpkin throughout the day!

So this year instead of doing anything that cost a lot of money, I planned to do the family reunion at Lucky Peak park. It was actually tons of fun!! It was long enough to talk and hang out but not too long. We ate, the kids went swimming we had water ballon fights it was great. We were sad that Brent & Marina couldnt be with us.

Yellowstone

We took a little family vacation to yellowstone last weekend and it was a blast. There was a lot of driving involved but we got to see so many neat things and it was beautiful. Hunter loved looking with Grandpa for bears, bufflope so he calls them and moose!! Thanks grandma and grandpa for going on that fun adventure with us!!

So Grandpa and Grandma decided to give Hunter his birthday and Christmas present early so that he could enjoy it through the summer!! We were so excited when it arrived we could hardly believe our eyes. Hunter has a new obsession with tractors so this is the perfect gift. He loves it. He keeps saying "mama I want this one" I keep telling him it is his. Because every time we go to Walmart he would ride on one similar to it. Thank you Thank you Thank you Grandma and Grandpa!!!

So yesterday was Ryans birthday! We just kindof hung out and then for dinner we had steak and shrimp and yummy cake and icecream. I caught the kids in the frosting before we ate. I thought it was cute. Oh and I didnt have any candles so that is what we used.

In celebration of our 6 year anniversary we planned a trip to Las Vegas since I have never been there and Ryan had only been there on business. We went with Ryans sister and her husband. It was a lot of fun. The first two days we spent without Hunter and then the last two days we met Ryans parents in St. George and picked him up. I can truly understand why that is called "sin city."

So I decided to redecorate my living room because I was sick of how it looked so this last weekend I was down with my Mom and we went shopping it was great. Spring Bunny Better Late Than Never!!!

Our family tradition is to do the spring bunny on the first day of spring instead of the Easter bunny due to the fact that we want to focus on Chirst on Easter. Well this year we were a little late but hey it was still before Easter Sunday so we are okay!!!

Also Grandma Draper had all of us over for lunch and an easter egg hunt on Saturday that was a blast. Hunter came out with seven dollars, some candy, and some died fingers it was great. Thanks Deborah!!!

My Father passed away on Thursday February 5, 2009. It has been pretty difficult. Thank you for every ones prayers and thoughts.

Van Charles DraperDecember 20, 1947 – February 5, 2009Van Charles Draper, 61, Nyssa, passed away peacefully on Thursday Feb. 5, 2009. Van was born in Ogden, Utah on December 20, 1947 to Miland George Draper and Iris Marie Van Natter. Van is survived by his seven siblings: Clark, Lynn, Debbie (Skousen), Roger, Willard, Donna (Galligar), and Darrell.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1967 to 1969. He married Barbara Fowers on Aug. 20, 1970. He is survived by their six children: Colleen (Mitchell), Derrick, Kevin, Allan, Brent, and Tasha (Nelson) and seventeen grandchildren.

Van married Monica Lewis on July 15, 2000. He is survived by their daughter, Audrey, and two grandchildren.

Van married Deborah Tuttle on August 5, 2006. He is survived by his wife, Deborah, and her five children: Kim Cardall, Amanda Kench, Jessica Sherwood, Brittney Faulkner, Kelsey Faulkner, and six grandchildren.Van loved to spend time with his family and friends.

He often stopped to help stranded motorists, giving freely of his time and skills with automobiles. He will be greatly missed by many in our community.Funeral services will be held at 11 am Tuesday, February 10th, at the Nyssa LDS Chapel. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the services.

Croup Home Remedy

So poor Hunter has croup. It has been an experience on Monday night we were in the ER so they did some X-Rays and checked him out and said he was fine to go home and give him Tylenol. I didn't really agree with that so on Tuesday I called the Pediatrician and took him in and he has croup. She gave him a steroid. She said if he starts to have a hard time breathing to bundle him up and go let him breath in the cold air so this afternoon that is what we did. You would think that would make it worse, I guess not. Hopefully it will get better soon.

Christmas morning was great it was just our little family!! When Hunter woke up we showed him what santa left him and it was so cute. Ryan and our friend McKay built a workshop which was awesome. It was great to watch Hunter

Christmas was so much fun this year!! On Christmas Eve we all went over to Allan's (my brothers house) and has good food, great fun, and the best nativity story ever done by all of the grandkids!

Utah Fun!!!

So this last week we went down to Utah to visit Ryans family. On the way home on Saturday we all decided to go to the Hogel Zoo in Salt Lake. It was tons of fun to watch Hunter! It was a very eventful week. Hunter played in leaves, went potty in the big boy potty twice, and we all got very little sleep.

Joe's Coming Home!

First of all thank you to all of the many people that prayed. It is truly a miracle that Joe is recovering so well. He was released from the hospital yesterday and the marines said that he could come home to recover the rest of the way which is such a blessing. Prayers have been answered. We love ya Joe and are glad you are okay.

Just so you know I probably wont be posting anything but updates on Joseph (Ryans brother) for a while. He is currently in intensive care in a drug induced coma. Without too much detail, he is in critical condtion due to the fact that the breathing tube is doing 100% of the breathing for him. They are slowly backing off the sedation but things get a little tricky whenever they do that. He is a fighter and doesnt like all the machines hooked up to him. If you know Joe or not if you could just please keep him in your prayers all of us Nelson clan would appreciate it. I am currently down in Utah staying with the family so that Mom & Dad Nelson can focus on Joseph. If you want more information please go to Nicolets blog

Trick-Or-Treat

This year was officially Hunters first Halloween that he could trick or treat. Ryan was elk hunting with Jim (his brother-in-law) so Karissa Ryans sister came up this weekend for Halloween and Karli (Hunters cousin) and Hunter were so cute. Hunter was a cow and I was a cow girl and Karli was a poodle.

Pumpkin Patch

Last night we went to the Linder Farms pumpkin patch it was so cold but so much fun. There was a hay ride and a petting zoo and Hunter even got to have a pony ride. We picked out a pumpkin just his size so we thought we let him hold it and he broke two before we had left the farm. Oh well it was a fun experience!

Womens Celebration

St Lukes does a huge womens celebration for breast cancer every year where 11,000 women walk, run, or strol 5K. So me and a couple of my friends ran the 5K which was so awesome. It poured and poured so we were so wet but still loads of fun.

I cant believe Hunter is one. On Saturday we had a pool party for him with family and friends. It was tons of fun. Thanks to Kevin and Maria the pictures and video of it are amazing. Just Plain Cute

Our friends Lynndi and McKay got a new trampoline and Hunter loved it. He was laughing so hard he could hardly breath it was the cutest thing ever. He played so hard and got so dirty! Boys will be Boys

So this weekend was tons of fun! Ryans three sisters and Mom and Dad came down to our house on Thursday evening and stayed until saturday morning. It was a great time we just hung out at home. Then Saturday night there was a big Nelson family dinner at Great Grandma and Grandpas house in Twin Falls. Hunter and cousin Karli played together so cute. Grandma thought it would be funny to put them in the watering pot and Great Grandpa enjoyed one on one time with the grandchildren!

The Nelson's Family tradition is instead of the Easter Bunny they do the Spring Bunny the first day of Spring so that way on Easter the focus is on Christ. This weekend I decieded to plan a surprise party for Mom's 28th birthday. We had five out of her six kids here along with grandkids. Although my house is a little small for all of those people it was great fun. The food was great (thanks to everyone) and it turned out good.

So I decided to start a small daycare so that I can help out with the bills while Ryan is going to school. I have Hunter of course and then an eleven year old that comes in the morning and then after school and then I have a fourteen month old that is here from eight until 6:30. It has its good days and its bad but I think it will work out great. I am in the process of trying to get one more child full time.

Church was cancelled!!

On Superbowl Sunday there was so much snow they decided to cancel church. To be completly honest I dont think it was the snow :) We spent the day with Allan, Jules and Brent while watching the Superbowl and eating until we were sick. Hunter enjoyed playing with his new football he got from Grandma Morrill and watching the game with his Uncles.
